Sustainability

According to the UN’s definition, sustainable development means that present generations should not only meet their own needs but consider the economic, social and environmental impact of their political, business and private decisions to enable future generations to meet their needs. 1

In line with this, the responsibility of business players extends beyond economic performance and includes all other operational factors that may have a negative impact on sustainability. We at Telenor believe that it is not enough for a company to create value for the majority of the society with its core business. In addition, it should do its best to extend the benefits of its operation to as many stakeholders as possible, and minimise and offset its potentially harmful environmental and social impact.

Telenor is committed to doing business in a way to boost sustainable social and corporate development. For Telenor Hungary, sustainability means integrating the three pillars of sustainable development into its corporate decisions and daily business, that is, considering not only the economic, but also the environmental and social impact of its activities. At the end of the day, this is how we’ll be able to make the benefits of ICT available to all while operating responsibly, ethically and transparently.

Our projects promoting corporate responsibility and sustainable development are listed in a breakdown by economic, environmental and social topics to demonstrate compliance with the above three requirements.
