What is the Telenor Contact service?

Telenor Contact allows you to use a mobile phone that supports the service over Telenor's wireless mobile Internet connection to access your incoming emails sent to your web-based (e.g.. Yahoo! Mail, Gmail) and other local POP/IMAP mailing systems (e.g. Freemail, Citromail, Indamail etc.) by forwarding these emails to your mobile phone via the “push email” function of the service without initiating synchronisation.
What can I do with the Telenor Contact service?
You can use your mobile support the Telenor Contact software (e.g. Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, J2ME) to read, reply to or delete your emails or to write and send messages directly from your handset.
This way, you can save time and money and access your electronic mailboxes conveniently using your service-compatible phone no matter where you are. Using Telenor Contact, you can automatically deliver (“push”) your email messages and access email attachments and images from your mobile phone. You can manage your existing and supported email addresses with the Telenor Contact service. The service is designed to download and send the messages in your email accounts to a mobile supporting the service, from where you can directly respond through the email account originally accepting the message. In addition, the service can synchronise your mailbox with your phone via the wireless connection, eliminating the need for managing your mail seperately in your mailbox.

Using the service, you can synchronise several accounts with your phone. This way, when you are using more than one account, you can access and reply to all the messages in your mailboxes directly from your phone.
Your email messages continue to be delivered to your existing email account as they were before you added the email address to the Telenor Contact service.
You can easily configure the service for the supported email addresses either directly on the handset by entering the information needed to access your electronic mailbox (email address and password).
Telenor Contact Instant Messaging is an instant messaging function that enables you to access chat clients (e.g. Google Talk) supported by the services on your Android mobile device (the range of systems and devices supporting instant messaging is continuously expanding).
