Hungarian Red Cross to launch donation hotline at 1359

The donation hotline of the Hungarian Red Cross will go live at 00:00 midnight on 2 February.
The number 1359 can be called from any network. Making a call or sending a text message, customers can donate HUF 250 to the current aid programme of the Hungarian Red Cross. The launch campaign of the donation hotline involves celebrities who volunteered to personally take donation calls at 1359.
As of 2 February, the donation hotline of the Hungarian Red Cross will be available from the network of leading Hungarian telecommunications operators including Magyar Telekom, Telenor, Vodafone, Invitel and UPC. Those calling 1359 or sending a text message with the word “ADOMANY” will contribute HUF 250 to support the activities of Hungary’s largest humanitarian organization.
The number will be promoted to the general public by seven celebrities who volunteered to personally take donation calls including Ildikó Bényi, television presenter and goodwill ambassador of the Hungarian Red Cross, Nóra Ördög, television hostess, Gábor Bochkor, János Voga and Dániel István, radio hosts, and singers Lola and Peti Puskás.
Based on the local and international experience of the Red Cross, donation hotlines provide a fast and efficient tool to support the activities of humanitarian organizations.
