Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of donors and the exemplary cooperation within the Hungarian telecommunications industry, about HUF 150 million were collected through 1749, a help line free of any charge and operated jointly by Vodafone, T-Mobile, Telenor, T-Home, Invitel and UPC. The entire gathered amount will be distributed to flood victims by the Hungarian Red Cross.

1goal – supporting education with Pele, Del Piero and Zidane

On 1 July, Telenor is launching a free text message campaign to support education, joining the 1GOAL campaign, an initiative that involves 100 countries. The campaign will run until the end of July, with Telenor “teaming up” with big sporting names and celebrities like Zinedine Zidane, Eusebio, Pelé, Alessandro Del Piero, Shakira and Kevin Spacey. They are all ambassadors for this worldwide campaign which was started in connection with the World Cup and with the aim to rally support for education.

Internet roaming is now available at „EU rates” in Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro

Telenor will be offering Mobile Internet services at lower “EU” rates in Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro as of July 1. This means that, while in these countries, Telenor's customers will not have to pay more than the "EU rates" for Internet use in these popular tourist destinations. Also from 1 July, Telenor will be offering its Netroaming monitoring service in these three countries, making it easier for tourists to track their travel-related costs.
