Award 4: ‘Your Digital Hungary’ Awards

What are we looking for?

• Digital Hungary cannot just be a ‘top-down’ project, we are also seeking ‘bottom-up’ feedback from the public to find out what they believe to be the most helpful projects are that Digital Hungary can solve.

How will the awards work in practice?

• We want to hear from ordinary Hungarian people about the problems they are experiencing in their day-to-day lives (e.g. with public services) where there might be a digital technology solution. To give one example, digital technology can help to tackle issues like street and rubbish cleaning by helping citizens communicate with public authorities about where problems are and creating real-time ‘mapping’ of those areas of urgent need.

What will we do?

• We will get a short list of the top 3-5 problems where digital technology has the most potential for innovative solutions, and try to fund at least 1-2 of these solutions. The awards will be given at the Digital Hungary conference in autumn 2010.
