In a Safe way

BiztonságosanFor many young people, using our services is the first step on the road to the Internet and the world of unlimited information. This, however, also entails danger. We want to use all means at our disposal to protect them from harmful effects when using computers and mobile phones and prevent them from falling victim to online harassment.

In 2008, Hungary’s three mobile operators signed a Code of Ethics and agreed to enable control of access to adult content to promote safe mobile phone use by young people. As part of this commitment, we launched a service enabling customers to control access to standard rate and premium rate adult content through various channels including SMS, MMS, WAP, voice calls and the Internet. Using this service, customers can ban access to premium-rate content or confine access to Web and WAP sites included on the operator’s white list of safe, non-adult content. The above access control services are available to Pannon customers free of charge.

The Telenor Group has also developed children-friendly services, thus providing its youngest customers with a safe Internet experience.

Kidsurf – the childproof browser

In 2002, Telenor Norway launched Kidsurf, the first childproof fixed-line browser in the world. In 2005, its capabilities were extended to mobile devices. Kidsurf is a browser that allows users to access approved sites only, and enables parents to fully monitor what their children have access to on the Internet.

Magic Desktop and “bully filter”

Magic Desktop is a software with numerous programmes and applications, which also enables parents to monitor their children’s activity online. In Norway, we also have a “bully filter”, to stop harassment by mobile phone. Using this service, customers may block certain numbers from sending text messages to their children.
